After months of planning and collaboration, Toukley town centre’s identity signs were installed in July in two prominent locations. The identity signs have their own unique emblem which represents Toukley’s history and specific features. The emblem was designed to reflect the identity of the town centre with a connection to water, and the colours within the emblem were inspired by the urban and natural landscape.
Taxi rank artwork
Vibrant images were installed on Toukley’s taxi rank along Canton Beach Road. The images created were informed by Toukley’s Identity Package with the overall purpose to improve the presentation of our town centres, reduce graffiti and improve visitor experience leading up to the summer school holidays.
Car park line marking
The pedestrian crossing outside Coles entry has been re-line marked and new crossing signs installed. This was in response to recent reports of ‘near misses’ due to the faded crossing. Additionally, the carpark adjacent to Coles, utilised by the Toukley Senior Citizens and Toukley Community Health Centre has received a fresh coat of paint. Both upgrades have greatly improved vehicle and pedestrian safety.
