Central Coast Council is moving ahead with the first stage of upgrades to Kibble Park in Gosford, marking a significant milestone for the heart of the city.

This vision has been strongly reinforced by the community, who have played an active role in shaping the Kibble Park Place Plan. The Place Plan provides a clear roadmap for how Council and the community can work together to bring this shared vision to life. Council is now moving into the first stage of delivering on that plan.

Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said this first stage of work is a big step in creating the vibrant, inclusive space that the community has asked for.

“As Gosford and the wider Central Coast continue to grow, the role of Kibble Park in supporting community wellbeing has never been more important,” Mayor McKinna said.

“Locals have told us they want a green space in the heart of the city - a place where everyone feels welcome, safe and connected. We’re excited to see this project begin to take shape.”

Council Director Community and Recreation Services, Melanie Smith said the works are expected to have minimal impact on nearby residents and businesses.

“As part of the initial works, sections of Kibble Park will be temporarily closed from Monday 11 May 2026 - including the community carpark - to allow for the demolition of the Parkhouse building,” Ms Smith said.

“Stage one construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.”
Council thanks the community for their patience and understanding as we take this important step toward realising a revitalised Kibble Park.
