It’s National Volunteer Week and Central Coast Council is proud to celebrate the contributions of the thousands of volunteers across our community.
In 2024 the theme is ‘Something for Everyone’ and from 20 – 26 May all of their efforts nationwide will be acknowledged.
There are thousands of Central Coast residents making a difference in our community each and every day; whether it’s helping out at school, doing a beach patrol over summer, improving our natural areas, or working with a charity.
Volunteers are at the heart of communities, and they make a real difference in people’s lives.
Council provides many different opportunities for volunteering, find out more and how to be involved using the links below.
Visitor Service Volunteer Ambassador
Want to develop news skills, confidence and help accelerate the customer service experience for visitors and locals looking for things to do and see across our beautiful region?
We’re looking to hear from local community members interested in becoming a Visitor Service Volunteer Ambassador at the recently revitalised Visitor Information Centre, The Entrance.
The volunteer role has been developed to support staff in the new Central Coast Visitor Centre and will assist with providing information on the Coast and surrounds to visitors and the local community - enticing visitors to explore more and stay longer in the region as well as encouraging local residents to explore their own backyard.
Environmental Volunteering Program
We have a range of volunteering opportunities in bushland, coastal areas, lake foreshores, parklands, cemeteries and high conservation areas such as wildlife corridors and the Coastal Open Space System.
Some of the activities include:
- bush regeneration
- weed control
- planting
- seed collection
- propagation
- erosion control
- park maintenance
- landscaping
- litter reduction
- fauna monitoring
- education training
Gosford Regional Gallery
Our regional gallery at East Gosford is rapidly becoming one of the Coast’s most popular tourist attractions. Boasting a delightful range of exhibits that rotates throughout the years and bordered by the tranquil Japanese Gardens. This is a place both of zen and culture. Meet likeminded people and volunteer for one of the many roles available.
