How our regional economy strategies drive impact

Council has developed a suite of strategies to support the long-term growth and prosperity of the Central Coast.

Together, these strategies strengthen the delivery of the Community Strategic Plan by contributing to:

  • A resilient local economy that generates sustainable jobs, attracts investment and supports innovation.
  • Vibrant, inclusive communities that value identity, participation and connection.
  • Sustainable environments that protect that Central Coast’s natural assets and enhance liveability for future generations.

This coordinated approach ensures that our economic development is not pursued in isolation, but is integrated with social, cultural, environmental, infrastructure and planning priorities. It recognises that a thriving economy depends on vibrant communities, strong cultural identity, sustainable environmental and the infrastructure to support both growth and liveability.

  • The Central Coast Employment Land Strategy (ELS) outlines a long-term vision for the growth of the Central Coast as a hub for jobs, innovation, and sustainable industry. With anticipated population increase of 57,000 by 2041, the ELS will ensure the Central Coast has the necessary land, infrastructure, and planning in place to support future employment and economic growth.

The Strategy addresses the importance of maintaining a long-term supply of employment lands, aligning infrastructure with employment growth needs and fostering a diverse and sustainable economy.
