Check here for information about temporary road closures or activities that may impact on traffic conditions on the Central Coast.

Below is a list of planned and unplanned road closures that may impact travel times and/or routes on Central Coast roads under Council’s responsibility. This may include closures due to significant weather events, major road construction works or major events. This is not an exhaustive list, road closures with minimal potential impact are not included. 

Please note: 

  • This information is updated during business hours from 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Major road impacts and closures outside of business hours are listed on Council's Facebook page. A natural disaster or severe weather event can significantly impact our road network with little notice, this page may also be updated outside of business hours during these events, with alerts also posted on Council's Facebook page
  • For information on State managed roads (i.e. main roads such as Central Coast Highway and the M1), download the LiveTraffic app or go online to www.livetraffic.com.

A detour of all traffic will be available via Henry Parry Drive and Cary Street/Maidens Brush Road. Temporary arrangements will be put in place to facilitate pedestrian access through Cary Street. The works will also require the temporary relocation of the bus stop on Cary Street, outside Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School.   Weather and other circumstances depending.

Vaughan Avenue will be closed from the Central Coast Highway. Both roads will be closed from  5:15am to approx. 6:45am. 

Gosford Donnison Street, Mortimer Lane, Mann Street  25 April 202425 April 2024Special Event - Anzac Day

Full road closure of Donnison Street from Henry Parry Drive to the roundabout of Baker Street.

Mortimer Lane will also be closed at William Street and Paul Lane.

 Mann Street will be closed from Central Coast Highway near Broadview Avenue to the intersection of Erina Street. 

Roads will be closed from 9:45am to approx. 12:30pm. 

OurimbahPacific Highway, Dog Trap Road25 April 202425 April 2024Special Event - Anzac Day

Pacific Highway will be closed at the round about coming off the M1 with detours pushing vehicles towards Tuggerah.


Pacific Highway will be closed from the intersection of Yates Road and Ourimbah Creek Road to the roundabout at Chittaway Road.


Dog Trap Road will be under a full closure with no vehicle access at the roundabout until the march concludes at Ourimbah RSL.


Roads will be closed from 1:15pm to approx. 2:00pm

Terrigal The Esplanade, Terrigal Drive 25 April 202425 April 2024Special Event - Anzac Day

From 3am The Esplanade will be closed from the intersection of Campbell Crescent to Kurrawyba Avenue until the conclusion of the service.

The main access into Terrigal CBD will be closed at the intersection of Terrigal Drive and Barnhill Road.

Roads will be closed from 3am approx. 7:15am.

The EntranceMarine Parade, The Entrance Road, 25 April 202425 April 2024Special Event - Anzac Day

From 5:00am Marine Parade will be closed from Coral Street to Beach Street. 

The Entrance Road will be closed from Victoria Avenue to Marine Parade.


From 10:30am Marine Parade will be closed from Coral Street to Beach Street. 

The Entrance Road will be closed from Denning Street to Marine Parade. Denning Street will be closed from Taylor Street to The Entrance Road.


Roads will re-open approx. 1:00pm.

Toukley Main Road, Holmes Avenue, Norman Street, Athol Street, Glenavon Street25 April 202425 April 2024Special Event - Anzac DayFrom 5:00am Main Road will be closed between Victoria Avenue and Fravent Street. Several side street accesses will also be closed including Holmes Avenue, Norman Street, Athol Street and Glenavon Street. Roads will re-open approx. 6:30am.

From 9:30am Blackwall Road will be closed from the roundabout at Victoria Road to Oval Avenue. 

Oval Avenue, Chambers Avenue and The Boulevard will be closed with no access. 

Brick Wharf Road will also be closed until the carpark entry past Memorial Park. Roads will re-open approx. 10:45am.

      
      

Wisemans Ferry Road

Gunderman/Spencer5 April 2024Wisemans Ferry RoadDue to the rainfall received over the past 24 hours, Wisemans Ferry Road (west of Spencer) is now closed in both directions to all traffic due to the increased risk of slope instability and safety issues in accordance with geotechnical experts advice. Road Open

A section of Wisemans Ferry Road (approx. 10km west of Spencer) has been impacted by landslips and instability has a higher risk of further impacts during significant rainfall.

In accordance with geotechinical expert advice to reduce the risk of further slope instability and safety risks for the public, Council has put in place protocols where the road is temporarily closed when more than 30mm rain occurs in a 24hr period.

Notice will be provided to the community on Council’s Facebook page (@CentralCoastCouncil) of an impending closure with as much notice as possible, and we will provide an update of the status when the road is closed with anticipated re-opening details, and again once the road has re-opened following an inspection of Council’s geotechnical consultant.

Note: Council is prioritising investigations and the development of treatments to address a longer term solution for Wisemans Ferry Road, along with specialised geotechnical consultants.  Council is regularly meeting with representatives of Transport for NSW and submitting requests for grant funding to carry out repairs. Council will be communicating with the community shortly in relation to the program of works for Wisemans Ferry Road.
